A day at the beach

I’ve mentioned before that we are really lucky to live 5 minutes away from the beach. It is really easy to pop there after school or for an hour or two and soak up some sunshine and fresh air. Normally we steer clear of the ‘touristy’ elements, but every once in a while it is lovely to pretend that you are on holiday and enjoy a real British day at the seaside!!

It was too cold for sandcastles and paddling but we enjoyed sitting overlooking the sea and eating ice cream (it’s never too cold for ice cream is it?!)

We then took a walk along the promenade to check out the new climbing wall and beach huts.

We finished our little afternoon out with a little session in the arcades. The girls played on a ride or two and I got them a tub of 2p’s each which they loved putting in the slot machines. Bean pumped all hers in as quickly as she could but Jelly Baby savoured them and took all her ‘winnings’ back home with her!

  1. How gorgeous are the beach huts and the beautiful bright climbing wall. You are so fortunate to live in such a great location for children. Must pay a visit soon. You’re right it’s never too old for ice-cream #ordinarymoments

  2. Wow, that climbing wall looks fantastic! It looks like a beautiful beach and you’re right it’s never too cold for ice cream where children are concerned 😉
