Every year we have a little ritual – we head off to our local park and kick the leaves and collect conkers. We don’t really do anything special with the conkers (this year we have displayed them in a vase to use as a centrepiece) but it is the experience of hunting for them and having fun together in the process. You can read about last year’s conker collecting here.
This year the weather was so beautiful and warm and we had Daddy with us we extended our little outing and collected leaves too – and we had so much fun finding the biggest / prettiest / orangiest/ reddest leaves! The girls then stopped for a little swing and play in the playground. It was a simple Sunday but a really lovely one. You can’t beat simple, quality family time.
