We care about what we eat in our house. I believe in buying local and I love buying from independent producers. It isn’t always convenient though, and as a big family it is sometimes easier to do a big online supermarket shop. I try to buy bits and pieces from local shops and farmers markets when I am going past but it isn’t always convenient which is a shame. I have recently been introduced to a great company though that could mean I could top up my main shop with some great artisan food from local producers just as easily as doing an online shop.
Caprera is an online store bringing over 300 different products to the consumer, from different producers, through their one website. You order with Caprera, pay in one transaction and then receive your products in one delivery. Amazing, right! I can’t believe no one thought of it before!
We were sent some products to try out and were really impressed. The packaging was top notch which is important when glass jars and biscuits are being sent. Everything arrived well packaged and intact!
We were sent a Raspberry Chocolate Bar by Chocolate Tree
Halen Mon Sea Salt Crackers by CNWC Crackers
Afghan Spiced Potted Beef by That Hungry Chef
The raspberry chocolate bar was gorgeous and a real treat! The hubby ate the salt crackers with the spiced potted beef and declared it delicious! Clearly the food is high quality and reasonably priced too. I love that they are all something that you wouldn’t find in your regular supermarket.
You can browse by product on the website or by producer and you can read a whole story about the small company behind each product. I love helping small, independent businesses and it is inspiring to read their stories too. Caprera’s website is a thing of beauty too and it is well worth checking out their magazine and blog sections, perfect for food lovers! They also do a selection of gifts, from vouchers to hampers which are perfect for birthdays or christmas. They even have an afternoon tea hamper? Yes please!
I’d definitely recommend taking a look!
