Every year Christmas gets better and better. The girls get a bit older, they understand a bit more and they get more excited. And of course this year we have a whole new baby to share it with – it’s so special and exciting to me.
Christmas is about making memories. We all remember how exciting Christmas was when we were small and we want to replicate that with our children. My favourite Christmases are full of special memories – meeting Santa, visiting reindeer, shopping and laughing and spending time with our family. We have a little Christmas ritual in our house. We spend Christmas Eve watching the crib service in Church and go out for lunch afterwards. We then head home where the girls open their Christmas Eve bags – we put on Christmas PJs, watch DVDs, put out milk and cookies for Santa and sprinkle special reindeer food for the reindeer.
We wake up on Christmas morning and open stockings in bed before heading downstairs to open more presents. Mummy and Daddy sip cocktails and the girls eat too much chocolate. Daddy then makes Christmas dinner while Mummy has a bath and reads a new recipe book and the girls play with their new toys. Then we all just enjoy each other’s company and Christmas movies on TV!
I absolutely love Christmas and am looking forward to making many many more special memories at this special time.
