Date Night – Mermaid at the Sherman Theatre

Mr Cookies and Cwtches and I love a good date night! We actually haven’t been on one for a while because we have both been out separately a bit in the last couple of months. Next month though we are really looking forward to going to see Mermaid together at the Sherman Theatre.

You will know that I am a huge supporter of the Sherman Theatre. I love the atmosphere there, and the fact that you can get great pre-show food from Foxy’s on site without having to go further afield and rushing from place to place. I also love the shows there, they are always unique, modern and inspiring – perfect for date night as we have a great time and have plenty to chat about afterwards!

We are going to see ‘Mermaid’ which I am genuinely intrigued to see as it is billed as a modern re-telling of the Hans Christian Anderson children’s classic. The Little Mermaid for grown ups! The write up promises it to be “spell-binding” with an “unearthly musical landscape” provided by a chorus of local young women. A portrayal of the dichotomy between the paradise of the ocean and the realities of life above sea – love, loss and desire intertwined.

I can’t wait! Mermaid is showing at the Sherman at the following times…

Tuesday 21 April 7.30pm
Wednesday 22 April 7.30pm
Thursday 23 April 7.30pm
Friday 24 April 7.30pm
Saturday 25 April 2.00pm

Disclosure – I have been invited to the Press Night for Mermaid.
