Since having the children, nights out have been few and far between. I’m sure lots of you can feel that pain too! You don’t always want to leave your children, or babysitters are costly and eventually it becomes easier to stay in!
I feel like this might be about to change for me though. This week we were invited to Cafe Junior to taste their new Family Bistro menu. Cafe Junior is a great little cafe / play place where we have often visited with the children in the day times and also been there for birthday parties. It is hands down one of my favourite places to take the children because I know that they will play there nicely, where they are safe and I can see them, and they also serve great homemade food for them too. It is one of the only places I can take them where I can actually sit and drink my coffee while it is hot and even chat to a friend too!
Al this greatness is also available in the evenings at Cafe Junior too! Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday Cafe Junior is open from 5.30-8.30 for you to enjoy a grown up meal, some wine and all while your children play – no need for a babysitter!
We were treated to sample the delights of the new menu there and I must say it was delicious! There was plenty of choice for vegetarians (very important for me!!) and it was all great, freshly made food.
I sampled a selection of their dishes and they were all gorgeous! I particularly liked the halloumi and beetroot salad and goats cheese and caramelised onion pizza. Tapas dishes are a very reasonable four per person for £9.95 and the set menu is £10.95 for two courses or £13.95 for three. Their menu isn’t static either which I love, so you get to try something different each visit.
Even better, they now have a liquor licence so you can enjoy a glass of wine with your meal too. I got the impression that they are very proud of their wine menu and the ones I tasted were lovely, especially the Mocha Java Merlot!
Everybody at Cafe Junior was so lovely and welcoming and they are great with the children. Your children can dine with you of course too – they can choose something off the normal kids menu, or if you have already fed them just sit back, watch them play and enjoy your grown up dinner without clock watching or worrying about if they are settling for the sitter!
Disclaimer – we were invited to Cafe Junior to taste their new family bistro menu. All opinions are honest and my own. I would definitely recommend trying Cafe Junior Bistro for an evening out.
