We all know as parents that it is really important to make sure that the bedroom temperature of our little ones is at a safe level. We have a baby monitor with the temperature indicated on it, but sometimes I will admit to forgetting exactly what the temperature should be, or the dial on the monitor can be hard to read in low light.
The ideal temperature for your baby's bedroom is 16-20 degrees as confirmed by the Lullaby Trust. This does seem on the cool side, but it is because babies cannot control their temperatures very well and overheating can be very dangerous.
We were recently sent a Gro Egg to try out. If you haven't seen a Gro Egg before it is a plug in egg which displays the temperature of the room and glows a colour to indicate what the temperature is. What I love about the Gro Egg is that you can tell at a glance if the temperature in your baby's room is ok. A blue glow will indicate that it is too cold, yellow is just right and a red glow says that it is too warm. There is also a digital display so you can read the exact temperature if you wish.
Baby S is on the top floor of our new house and heat rises. His bedroom is always warm when the rest of the house might be cooler so it is really handy being able to pop my head into his room and instantly see the temperature by looking at the colour of the light on the Gro Egg and I don't risk waking him.
If the temperature of his room is too warm I might take a blanket off him, turn the heating down or open a window. If it is too cold I would add a blanket and adjust the central heating as necessary. It is really important that I know what the temperature is though so I can make sure he has a safe sleeping environment.
I'd definitely recommend one of these to any new parent. It can stay in your child's room as they grow too so you know that their bedroom is always a comfortable temperature for them, even when they have grown out of the need for a baby monitor.
A while ago I shared a review of another Gro Company product - the Gro Clock - a fantastic piece of kit which has been a lifesaver for giving me a little bit of extra time in bed! You can read it here.
Disclosure - I was gifted a Gro Egg for the purpose of writing this review. All opinions are honest and my own.

This looks great. Our room thermometer is a bit useless at night because there's no light on it ... Little things that you don't think about before you start using something! We had the Gro Hush and swore by it for getting our little one to sleep.

This looks like such a good product. I should buy one as it's always difficult to see what the temperature is in our house as we live in a townhouse. The top floors always seem boiling hot x
