I’ve been reading lots of fabulous blogs lately and I’ve seen that a lot of people join up with this brilliant linky over at Coffee Work Sleep Repeat. I really like reading these posts because they tell me so much about the writer, they are really contemporary and they have such a personal nature. I’ve been getting lots of inspiration from them too. So, because I love reading them so much and because of my recent decision to make a conscious effort to share more personal stories on this blog I thought I would join in. I’m not sure if it will be a weekly thing or not, we’ll see how I go!
I’ve been making a real effort to read over the last few months. I read a lot slower than I used to, but I’ve been taking my book out and about with me and grabbing ten minutes here and there if Little Boy falls asleep in the car. I love reading (well I am an English Graduate!). This week I’ve been reading The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith (otherwise known as JK Rowling!).
I’ve wanted to read this for ages and I found it a slow start but by the end I was really into it, and I didn’t guess ‘who did it’ at all which is unusual for me! I was really pleased to discover that there are 2 more books featuring this protagonist and they are definitely on my list to read soon.
This week I finished watching This Is Us – I was little behind as it’s not something my husband wanted to watch so I had to watch it when he wasn’t around.
I absolutely loved it – in fact I think it might be my favourite show ever. Every single episode had me in floods of tears and really made me appreciate my life and family. I’d always resolve to make the most of every last moment with them after watching an episode. It ended on a bit of a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see what happens in Season 2.
I’ve been listening to a bit of Lana Del Rey on Spotify and I recently bought the Now That’s What I Call Running 2017 album to motivate me along when I’m running!
I’ve taken up crochet again and a couple of weeks ago bought myself some new yarn and began making granny squares in shades of grey and white. The plan is to devote some time each week to making a few and then I have a gorgeous blanket in colours that match the living room.
I’ve really been loving wearing my new Pacapod bag this week. I love the navy and tan colours and it fits in everything that I need. There’ll be a review coming up on the blog next week so keep a look out for it.
I’ve also been doing a bit of shopping for summer on eBay. I’ve picked up a beautiful dress, the perfect denim jacket and a lovely smart top for day wear. I do love a bargain! I’ll be doing an eBay haul on YouTube soon!
This week I’ve really been loving how well behaved Little Boy has been.
We’ve made some changes to his diet to try to cut out a lot of the sugar and processed artificial foods he’s been eating. I’ve also made a really concerted effort to work on a more positive parenting attitude with him and take him out for a drive / walk in the pushchair if he seems tired so that he sleeps enough. We’ve also brought in a stricter bedtime routine and he’s nearly back to settling himself to sleep again. Massive progress and it’s meant that I’ve been much happier and less stressed this week.
