My 15 Minute Morning Hair and Make Up Routine
Having three children makes it really difficult to get ready in the mornings, especially if you like your sleep like I do! I set my alarm for 6am every day which should give me a full hour to get up and ready before the children get up but I snooze it for at least 30 minutes every day and spend the other 30 minutes on my phone before I get up so I rarely use that important time to get myself ready! One day I will have the willpower to stop pressing snooze…I just can’t see it being any time soon!
So, this leaves me with about 15 minutes to get my hair and make up done in the morning. And that’s if I’m lucky! So I thought I would share with you my 15 minute morning hair and make up routine, including what products I use to get myself looking half decent in such a short amount of time so that I don’t look like a bedraggled mess on the school run!
Firstly I make sure that I use a moisturiser with added sunscreen because this does two jobs in one! I use *Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion and have for years. I absolutely love it, it goes on like a dream and sinks in really quickly meaning I can get on with doing my make up. If I have a moment though I do like to put on some of the *Elemis Pro Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm to give my skin a dewier finish and it acts as a great primer.
At the moment I’m using three different foundations, and a mixture of Maybelline Dream Satin and Bourjois City Radiance on my face. I apply these using a cheap blender brush I picked up in Primark one day. If you are a beauty blogger or make up addict feel free to shudder here but it works for me!
I absolutely swear by my Charlotte Tilbury *5 Minute Palette. I use the bronzer on my forehead and cheeks / chin and the blusher on my cheeks. I then sweep the eyeshadows over my eyelids and if I’m looking for a bright look I finish with the highlighter. If I have a little more time or want a different eye look I’ll use my Naked 2 mini palette for eyeshadow.
I then line my lashes with a brown eyeliner and use the same eyeliner to shade in my eyebrows a little before finishing off with a couple of coats of *Benefit They’re Real mascara.
If I’m looking for a more polished look I slick a little bit of No7 Skin Illuminator over the tops of my cheekbones. I love the highlight and definition that it gives.
If I don’t have time to do my hair I’ll just throw it up in a mum bun but if I have a spare few minutes I’ll run a few curls through it with my barrel tong.
I hope that gives you a little insight into what it takes me to get ready in the morning! If you want to see exactly how I apply it all as well as catch up a little bit with me in a little chatty update, check out my video on my YouTube channel.
