New Next Swansea
I am a huge fan of Next. I buy a lot of clothes for the children from there and quite a lot of my things are from there too. I adore their homeware (although it is a little expensive for my budget) and it isn’t Christmas until the Next Christmas catalogue lands on my doormat!
Safe to say, I am a genuine customer Next, although I will admit to doing most of my shopping there online. I find the Cardiff store a little cramped and hard to get to with the children. I like the store in Leckwith but find the clothes sections let it down, although it is fabulous for homeware.
Earlier in the week I was invited to take a look around their new store in Morfa Retail Park in Swansea. A little group of bloggers and Press were treated to some prosecco, a tour of the new store and treated to a lovely dinner afterwards.
The new store is huge and I immediately fell in love with it! It has huge glass windows instead of external walls which made it look bright and open, and flooded the products with natural light which really helped to make them look their best.
They have put a big emphasis on their home department, and it looks amazing. I love how you can go around, sit on the sofas, test the beds and it is all set up in a really welcoming way. Sitting on the sofas you can feel like you are in a living room – it really enables you to get a good feel for their products.
The home department is done really well, but not to the detriment of other sections. There is a large ladieswear department which is laid out in style sections which is really useful. It includes a separate lingerie section, and a small make up section too which you don’t often see in store.
The shoe department is a definite highlight – lots and lots of gorgeous shoes on display and lovely sofas to sit and try them all on.
The menswear department is equally well stocked and they have a huge array of suits in their very posh looking suitwear section.
The children’s clothes are as cute as ever. The wall of shoes is something to behold and my girls would love looking around there! I like how Next have started to catch onto trends in childrenswear and you can now find not only your traditional pretty clothes there, but also some fashionable and on trend pieces.
The store has toilets, lifts, and a café making it a really family friendly place. It is nice and open so you can see your children while shopping and easily push a pushchair around and see everything. I would happily head here with a friend or two to while away a morning browsing, buying and stopping for a coffee and cake in the Costa café upstairs.
It is a real shopping destination and if you are local you should definitely treat yourself to a little trip there!
I made a little video tour of the store so you can see how lovely it is…
A big thank you to the Next PR team for showing us around the store and gifting us a goody bag with a voucher to spend. I’m going to use mine on lights for the new kitchen! We were also treated to a lovely dinner in the evening which was nice as I got to properly talk to the other bloggers and press and we had a really enjoyable night, only spoiled by the fact I had to leave early to catch the last train home!
