The Ordinary Moments

I have missed writing this little post over the last couple of weeks but we have had a bit of a crazy ride with welcoming our little boy to our family and life has been filled with many wonderful extraordinary moments!

Today I’d like to share a little photo – it’s of me breastfeeding our new little one.

I have breastfed all of my children and it is something I feel really strongly about – I am even a trained breastfeeding peer supporter. A couple of my friends have had babies recently too so my life at the moment is very centered on feeding and offering information on feeding!

So for me this very special moment is over the next 12 months or so going to become an ordinary moment, something we get used to doing every day, a special snuggly personal time between me and my new baby, an excuse to spend time together amongst the hustle and bustle of our lives, just him and me.

p.s. I don’t want to get into a debate here about the best way to feed your child – each to your own – just this is the right way for me, my family and my child. No judgements either way.

  1. Hi!

Lovely photo. I fed Gwenn until she was 40 weeks (I went back to work then and looking back I could’ve carried on but what’s done is done!).

What makes me very sad though is that I don’t have any photos of her feeding. I have a few of her asleep after a feed, but not actually latched on. I know it doesn’t really matter and nobody is going to ask me to provide visual evidence but I still regret that I didn’t get a snap.

  2. Absolutely beautiful! Congratulations! And what a gorgeous photo. I breastfed both my girl’s, the first till 11 months and the second until 15 months and it is such a special time. I miss it actually. Enjoy these ordinary moments, they are so special. xx

  3. Aww that is just such a lovely photo and many many congratulations! I fed my eldest until she was nearly two and we’re still going with the second and planning to do the same for the next baby when he or she makes an appearance so it’s an ordinary moment I recognise and treasure too!
