Every parent does it – we all have that iPhone snap of our little ones dressed in their uniform on the first day of school. We share it on Facebook along with all the other proud parents – pleased as punch that we are getting some free time away from the kids and sad at the same time that they are growing up that little bit more, that there is another year gone, that they are that little bit older.
Going to school everyday is an ordinary moment in our everyday lives and it takes a new uniform to make us sit up and notice what this collection of ordinary moments means. I am so lucky to have children who love school. They go to a fabulous school where I know that they are looked after and well educated and they have fun to boot – who wants anything else for their children? I am so lucky that I have children who are able to go to school and I am so lucky that they get older every year – that they are growing and thriving.
This photo captures an ordinary moment of the everyday in our house – going to school, only captured because they have their new summer uniforms on. I must remember that although the school run can be stressful, I am so so lucky to be able to experience this ordinary moment with them every day.
I am linking up this post with Katie over at MummyDaddyMe.
