As you might have noticed, I have been sprucing up and organising the house a little bit lately. Look out for some big room makeover posts coming up. It stems from the fact that we have decided to take our house off the market and stay here for another 4 years while we save up enough money to make a drastic move in time for Bean to start secondary school.
Anyway, as part of that, I have also been tidying and organising the ‘little’ things. In the kitchen you have seen me organise the odds and ends drawer, and organise my baking trays, and now it was the turn for my cutlery drawer.
Unfortunately I got so into the project I forgot to take a ‘before’ shot, but you can imagine it – everything was literally just thrown in there. I had to sift through everything to find the right tool (if I could find it at all!!).
So I tipped EVERYTHING out. I cleaned the drawer (it was ashamedly filthy) and lined it with some thick pretty spare wrapping paper that I had. I taped the paper down with pretty washi tape so that the edges were sealed but also still cute looking!
I then sorted everything, binning what was not needed and cleaning a lot of it. I then put it back in the drawer in an organised manner. I used a little pot to keep the medicine spoons and syringes all neat and together. I stacked the measuring spoons and cups, and I laid everything out so I could see it.
The finished drawer is sooooo lush!! I love opening it. I love that I can see what I want and everything is just there! I also love the bright colours that the children’s cutlery adds to the look!
