I am so excited to share with you our new bathroom. The main bathroom in this house was functional but in very bad need of updating. It was grubby and dated and I hated using it.
You may remember me posting some bathroom inspiration a while ago, and I used this as a guide for the renovation. I wanted the bathroom to be clean and bright as it is only a small space. I also wanted it to be a mix of modern and vintage - a nod to the Victorian heritage of the house.
My only must haves were a freestanding bath and rainfall shower. I really wanted mosaic tiles on the floor but the ones I initially wanted were out of stock, so the ones we have are my second choice. We absolutely love the finished bathroom though, it is everything we wanted and it feels so nice to have something that is brand new - we haven't ever had anything brand new like this before.
To give you an idea what it was like before, here is a photo
of the bathroom before we moved in...
Now we have a freestanding bath with grey metro tiles and white walls...
We have a rainfall shower with separate hand shower ...
We also put in a vintage radiator / heated towel rail which I adore!
The toilet and sink came as part of a set with the bath and radiator and have the same victorian style.
And the floor of course is made of these statement mosaic floor tiles.
I finished it off with a few little accessories. A shower rack from TK Maxx, flowers and a vase from Ikea, a storage basket from TK Maxx and a Yankee candle that was a housewarming gift. A crystal light pull and light from Wayfair work wonders to brighten the room (and match the toilet roll holder from TK Maxx again) and a vintage mirror from John Lewis and wall cupboard are practical additions.
You can watch a video tour of the bathroom that is now up on my YouTube channel if you want to see the full effect!
This project has completely spurred us on and the next big project is the kitchen / diner knock through where we are creating one big kitchen / diner with separate utility room and very small wc. That should be starting in the next couple of weeks so watch this space!

Your bathroom before with all the mirrors - all a bit crazy, but your new bathroom is incredible. Well done with all your hard work. It was so worth it! Love the shape of your mirror and the tiles especially! #HomeEtc xx

I know, I'm not sure what the previous owner was thinking with the mirrors!
