Review: Boing! at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff

I love taking the girls to the theatre to see shows and they really enjoy it. This week I took them along to the Sherman Theatre (Sherman Cymru) in Cardiff to see Boing! – a really clever and unique dance performance for children.

I’ve never been to the Sherman Theatre before and it was easy to find in the Cathays area of Cardiff. There is no car park but plenty of on-street parking – their website has a good guide to parking.

The theatre itself is lovely and modern. It has a large, bright lobby area with a lovely cafe and some things for the children to do. The toilet facilities were bright modern and clean and they have baby change facilities. In fact I think if we were more local it is just the sort of place we would go to for coffee and cake, even if we weren’t seeing a show. We bought some sweets and waited excitedly for the show to start.

The show was great – all about the excitement that is the night before Christmas. It was low level so the children could really engage with it and the dancing and performance was really clever  and funny – Bean laughed her socks off and Jelly Baby was fascinated. No problems with them sitting still as they were so engaged with it!

We had an absolutely fabulous time – thank you to Sherman Cymru for inviting us 🙂

Disclosure – we were gifted two free tickets and one reduced price for the purpose of this review.
