TGI Fridays Cardiff – A Review

Last week the hubby and I went out on a *very* rare date night – well more of an afternoon! We went to the spa at the Hilton Hotel in Cardiff and then ventured over to TGI Fridays in the St Davids 2 Centre.

TGI Fridays in Cardiff is one of only two restaurants to have the new menu available. Think big, bold and a little bit different. Here are some snippets to give you an idea…

The Tomahawk

A 30oz Rib eye steak, matured for extra tenderness and flavour, served with fries, onion rings, flat mushroom, and a choice of steak sauce. Are you ready for the challenge of the one and only Tomahawk? Only the brave take can take this one on. And only the fearless succeed.

The Chief Burger

Are you ready to meet your burger match? Look no further! This is a 7oz chargrilled burger, piled high with chicken breast, crispy bacon, Scorpion hot sauce, chilis, jalapenos, cheese, onion, tomato and chili mayo, served in a glazed brioche bun with crispy fries and topped off with a scotch bonnet chili. You’re playing with fire when you order this guy.

Pulled Pork Sundae

Yup, it’s an appetizer – not a dessert – so make this the first thing you order.  A sundae glass filled with BBQ pulled pork, bacon and melted cheese between layers of mashed potato, topped with Texan toothpicks. Ideal for those looking to try something a little different, packed full of timeless flavours.

Scorpion Chicken Sandwich

A sandwich with serious bite – will you heed the warning signs on the menu? Grilled chicken coated in spicy Scorpion hot sauce and topped with chili, bacon, cheese, tomato and red onion, served in glazed brioche bun with crispy fries or house salad on the side. You won’t forget this encounter in a hurry.

Green Chili Cheeseburger

This is one for all the spice-lovers out there. Inspired by New Mexican flavours it features a 7oz burger piled high with chargrilled hot chilies, jalapenos, cheese, tomato, onion and chili mayo. Is it too hot to handle?

The hubby was very pleased to see that they have expanded their Jack Daniels menu…

And he was delighted with his burger…

I was glad to see that they still had some old favourites of mine…

Of course a visit to TGI’s isn’t complete without sampling their cocktail menu and we did just that!

I love TGI Fridays – it is such a vibrant happy place, perfect for families, couples, big groups, just about everybody. I’d definitely recommend checking the new menu out too because the food is delicious!

Disclosure – we were given vouchers to put towards the cost of our meal for the purpose of this review. All opinions are honest and my own.

Super Busy Mum
