School uniform sometimes feels like the bane of my life. It is expensive to buy and rarely lasts the whole year - either getting worn out / covered in paint or lost. I try to balance buying decent quality uniform without spending too much money. However having two girls I like the uniform to be high enough quality to last being passed down.
We were recently sent some Trutex school uniform to review for Bean and I must say that I was really impressed with it. I was sent a pack of Katie Collar Blouses and a Junior Pleated Skirt. Unfortunately the red cardigan to complete the uniform was out of stock which was a shame as judging by the quality of the other two products I think I would have really liked it.
The Katie Collar Blouses are supposed to be non-iron, but as with all 'non-iron' things I found that they did need a little press to look really smart. They certainly didn't wrinkle in the wash as much as other shirts do though. My favourite bit about these shirts is the collar - it is a lovely shape and is nice and stiff so looks really smart.
The skirt was also a big hit. The material felt a lovely thick quality with good strong pleats that didn't wash out. I also loved the adjustable waist which is a god-send for a skinny minnie child like mine!
Size wise these came up a little big on Bean (I ordered 7-8) and they are too big for now but will hopefully fit next year so if your child is on the smaller side I'd suggest sizing down. Overall though I was very happy with the quality of this uniform and have high hopes of it making it through the year!
Disclosure - we were sent two shirts and one skirt to test for the purposes of this review. All opinions are honest and our own.
