I’ve got so much to tell you this week! It feels like for the first time in a long time that I have got my life back a little. Work has been really quiet which is not great money wise but lovely for giving me that bit of time back. I didn’t realise just how little time I have to myself when work is really intense.
The kiddies have been ill for the last couple of days this week which has meant that I’ve spent lots of time in the house playing with them. Even though it’s cold the sun has started to shine and it’s been quite nice to hang out at home together.
I’ve been reading vegan magazines this week, getting inspiration for new recipes to help me along my vegan journey. I’ve also found some great blogs with vegan recipes, my favourite at the moment being The Minimalist Baker because her photos are gorgeous and her recipes are all so simple and easy to make and turn out beautifully.
I’ve also found another blog that I absolutely love – Caroline Hirons – she’s educated, eloquent and honest, what’s not to love.
Books wise I haven’t read any fiction but I’ve pretty much had my head buried in Feed Me Vegan by Luxy Watson since I got it for Christmas.
I finally watched Big Little Liars and it was well worth the wait! I can’t believe the season was only 7 episodes long though! It actually made me think a lot about my life, the girlfriends I have and how I spend my days.
Another inspiring show I watched was The Greatest Showman. I can’t tell you how amazing this film is, and if you haven’t been to see it, go immediately! I took my middle daughter (6) and she loved it. The soundtrack is brilliant and the message and story is totally inspiring. It’s a film I’ll be buying on DVD when it’s out and watching again and again.
I’ve been downloading some new stuff onto my phone and it’s no surprise to find out it’s related to the above! The Greatest Showman soundtrack and the Little Big Lies soundtrack along with a song called “River” by Leon Bridges that was played on Big Little Lies. I’m obsessed. They’ve all been playing on repeat this week.
I’ve made lots of new vegan meals including vegan chocolate twists, bliss balls, a vegan chilli and spaghetti bolognese and vegan hot chocolate. I’m loving experimenting and finding vegan versions of food that I love. I also made some kick-ass invitations for my daughter’s birthday party. I can’t really show you because of the party details being on there and all but let’s just say they featured a pug and were awesome. And best of all they were really easy to do on Canva.
I’ve been wearing the two new tops I had from Joules for my birthday and also my Joanie Clothing Beauty School Drop Out jumper lots and lots. Both of these are always teamed with skinny or cigarette jeans and boots.
I’ve filmed a little video featuring some of my January favourites over on my YouTube channel. There’s some of the things I write about here and also some others so please do pop over and check it out.
