Back To School, Time to Read And Working More #LittleLoves

I have had a break from writing these posts over the summer and I’ve really missed them. I love the chance to tell you all what I’ve been up to over the week and I love reading other people’s posts because I always find them really inspiring. I get ideas on books to read, programmes to watch and fashion ideas for both me and the children. So here’s what I’ve been loving this week…

I thought that over the summer I’d have lots of time to read books but I found myself so exhausted I didn’t get a chance! I did get to read some magazines though, I download them from the library app so they don’t cost anything and I can just flick through them when I had a spare 5 minutes! We had a lovely couple of relaxing Sundays too and I treated myself to a Sunday paper which was a real treat!

Now that the holidays are over I’m making more time to read again in the evenings and weekends. I’ve just started The People At Number 9 by Felicity Everett. I’m only a few pages in and I’m already into it!

the people at number 9

I’ve been watching lots of Netflix lately, I’m still really into Suits and I’m seriously addicted to Pretty Little Liars too. I’ve decided to start watching a bit more TV dramas as I always seem to miss them. I was really keen to see The Cuckoo’s Calling as I loved the book.

It’s so difficult to watch something when you have read the book because it’s never like you think it will be. I think for that reason I didn’t enjoy it that much but my husband loved it.

I’m also really excited that Dr Foster is back! I loved the first episode and I can’t wait for more. Suranne Jones is such an amazing actress.

Over the summer we’ve been playing with our new toy the Echo Dot. The girls have loved playing games with it such as would you rather and the animal game. Even Little Boy has learnt to say Alexa – or “Lexa” as he says! We’ve been using it to listen to a lot more music when we’re cooking which is lovely.

You know how much we love crafts and we’ve been making some back to school crafts this summer. We also made a really cute knight out of an up-cycled bottle, inspired by a trip to a local castle.  I’m also hoping to get back into my crochet now that I have more time in the week to work. I’ve really missed that creative outlet.

Well, this week the kids have been mainly wearing their school uniform. They looked so smart on their first day. Even though Little Boy is only three he has to wear the full uniform including tie!

I’m really looking forward to autumn now and getting out the knitwear! I’m planning on doing a big shop as I need lots of new stuff for autumn so I can’t wait to share that with you.

The kids also need some new bits for autumn. Little Boy has this cute new outfit from Angel & Rocket*.

The clothes are really great quality and I love how trendy the jeans are. I love the little details on the back and the turn up bottoms.

They are going to be worn a lot this autumn and winter! The sweatshirt is really cool too, I love the grey colours and it’s super soft and cosy for the colder weather.

Although I really miss the children being back at school and have found this week so stressful, I’m really looking forward to being able to spend more time on this blog and sharing lots more posts with you. If you are a new reader or regular reader do let me know what you would like to read or see more of on here so I can make sure I’m writing content that you all enjoy!

I really enjoyed the Cuckoos Calling and the new one that started last night. I haven’t read the books which is always an advantage on an adaptation I think.
