On Sunday I was invited to a fabulous event in Waterloo Tea Rooms Cardiff. A Nespresso coffee event sponsored by Currys. It was my first afternoon out with no children in literally as long as I can remember and I was very excited!!
The day was amazing – I learnt all about coffee tasting (or ‘cupping’ as it is called), about all the different Nespresso machines and their coffee, and even got to try some coffee cocktails and latte art! We were treated to some tasty food at Waterloo Tea and there was of course a plentiful supply of coffee and cake!
I’d always had a little pre-conception that Nespresso machines and coffee are super expensive and exclusive and kind of not for me but I couldn’t have been more wrong. They do some great flavours and the coffee and machines are actually really great value – especially at the moment as they actually have an offer where you get a whopping £75 of credit with the purchase of certain machines. The coffee actually works out costing from just 29p per cup which is amazing value, especially for coffee of such great quality. The company prizes themselves on customer service and quality of coffee and this is really evident. The coffee is hermetically sealed, perfectly fresh at the point of use and most of it is AAA rated. Their customer services is open 365 days a year and their machines covered by a warranty that means should they break within the first 2/3 years they will not only be repaired but you will receive a replacement machine to use in the meantime. Nespresso even offer a free recycling service where they will recycle your used capsules which I think is just brilliant.
I love love love the look of the Nespresso machines. They are sleek, stylish and the smaller ones are very compact and would take up very little counter space. I also love how they all have little storage drawers for the used capsules which you then empty when they are full – so much easier than with other brands of machine.
The highlights of the day for me were getting to know some local bloggers, in particular Kate from Willow Makes Three, Liska from New Mum Online and Jo from Ojo’s World and of course catching up with the lovely Debbie from Johnson Babies. I loved learning about cocktail making and getting the other side of the coffee bar and trying out some latte art too!
I had a brilliant day so a big thank you to Nespresso and Currys and also Joe’s Bloggers and Waterloo Tea. You can read more about the event on Curry’s blog here.
