Everyone is living an entirely new way of life at the moment due to the current coronavirus outbreak. Elderly and vulnerable people are isolated at home and families are holed up together, trying to stay sane. The problems that lockdown has caused are different and unique for every one of us, but I really feel for people who are single and live alone. Dating online during the coronavirus will pose some challenges, but none that can't be overcome.
How the coronavirus lockdown has affected single people?
If you are single and looking to meet new people, the coronavirus outbreak must have seemed like it put a stop to your hopes of finding what you are looking for. Meeting new people is very difficult when you are staying at home most of the time and social distancing when you are out. Even if you are still working it is likely that you are sat behind a screen, with your only other communication with your colleagues being team zoom meetings, hardly the ideal alternative to the office water cooler flirting ground!
Can you date online during the coronavirus outbreak?
We have seen however just how well the world has managed to adapt to this new online life and I think that the dating world is going to be able to move with it too. Online dating has been very successful for years so arguably already has a head start on this! Successful dating sites such as nostringsdating net offer a way to meet other people online who are looking for similar meet ups.
If I were single and looking to meet new people at the moment I would look for an adult dating site that enabled me to ‘meet’ other people virtually online via video calls in a manner which was safe until people are able to meet safely in person again. It’s not going to be quite the same experience, but it is better than nothing and it might be the start of a relationship that you might want to continue when lockdown is over and we are able to meet up with other people again.
How to be safe dating online?
It is still vitally important to remain safe when you are meeting up with someone you have met online. At the time of writing the lockdown restrictions have eased slightly making it ok in some circumstances to meet up with someone outside. Check what the current restrictions are though before you make plans as they are likely to change. Make sure that you only meet up in a public place and always tell someone where you are going and who with. In the meantime, chatting online is a good replacement for a real life date and might be the safest way to approach things. You still should be careful about revealing too many personal details to someone you haven’t met before, including your address and financial details obviously. Otherwise, just relax and have fun, once you have gotten used to the online dating experience, it will begin to feel more normal and hopefully before we know it we will be able to get back to a normal life again.
