Dork Diaries Puppy Love by Rachel Renee Russell – A Review

Dork Diaries – Puppy Love

Bean loves reading and has a reading age above her actual age which is great. The only problem with this is that I am constantly trying to find more books for her to read. She is very selective in her tastes, so my trips to the library for her are often wasted as she doesn’t like what I have chosen!

She was super excited when the latest Dork Diaries book landed on our mat though! Dork Diaries Puppy Love is about a young girl who who takes on 7 abandoned puppies and tries to hide them from her parents and take them to school in secret!

Bean really loved this book – she really liked how it was laid out with comic book type illustrations inside which broke it up and made it entertaining for her.

The book is printed like a notebook on lined paper which makes it a bit more interesting than your regular book too. She literally couldn’t put it down and has read it more than once.

I’m so pleased that I have managed to find her a style of book that she is excited to read – I’ll be looking out for more in the Dork Diaries series.

I have never heard of the Dork Diaries but it sounds and looks really good for a daughter of her age and her advanced reading level.

I love the layout of it with the graphics and it’s great that your daughter likes it, it is a little less boring than reading a normal set out book.

Hope there are lots more books in the series for her to read.

    Laura x

It is so good that your daughter likes to read. I made sure both my girls had library cards as soon as possible (16 days for my eldest!) How old is Bean (and what age is she reading?) I maybe able to offer some suggestions.
