If the weather of late is anything to go by, we might all be spending quite a lot of the Christmas holidays indoors! It’s actually one of the holidays that I like to spend lots of time at home – the children like being at home where they can play with their presents and I like keeping warm! But as we all know, little people can get a bit stir crazy when they are indoors for too long so it’s worth having some ideas of indoor activities so you can avert any boredom!

Games

First port of call when boredom hits at Christmas is games! Your children will undoubtedly been given lots of new games or you could crack out some oldies but goodies! You could even make your own games – draw a picture of Rudolf and cut out a red circle and you have pin the nose on Rudolf!

Movie Afternoon

Why not spend an afternoon snuggling up watching a Christmas movie? It’s a great excuse to eat some of those Christmas chocolates too!

Crafts

Get your craft on! You could make handmade thank you cards or just draw and paint the fun things you have been doing over Christmas. I’m sure friends and family would love to be sent a handmade card or picture as a thank you for their gifts.

Read

While the weather is cold outside it’s the perfect time to get out a good book and spend an hour reading with your children. Make the most of the extra time that you have with them and snuggle up together on the sofa and let them practice their reading.

Put on a show!

If you have lots of children in the house for the festive period, club them together and task them with putting on a show. They love casting parts and finding costumes and the bonus of this one is the adults get a break while the little ones are practicing!

Today’s Codeword is: Mistletoe, if you would like to read another post and gain another entry, then head over to Mummies Waiting.
