We are huge Star Wars fans in our house. My husband loves the films and the girls love reading the books. They were really excited to get their hands on a copy of the new Star Wars Make and Do book because it mixes their two loves – crafts and Star Wars!
It’s got lots of great activities including paper mache crafts, making a decoder and learning how to draw your favourite Star Wars characters. It’s the perfect book to bring out on a rainy day and I know that it will keep my girls entertained for hours!
Bean set about trying to draw R2-D2 following the instructions. I’m quite proud of her effort!
Given how much my girls love dressing up as Star Wars characters I am sure they will be making the Stormtrooper helmet featured in the book for their next dressing up day at school.
I also really love the make your own decoder section – the girls can make one each and write secret messages to each other which they can then decode. I know this will keep them busy and will really help with Little Miss J’s spelling too.
We love the films and the girls have been loving reading The Force Awakens illustrated storybook together and Bean (10) is the perfect age to read the junior novel retelling of Rogue One. Little Miss J thinks it’s so funny when Bean makes up funny voices for the characters!
