Last Friday was the hubby’s 36th birthday – jeez that makes me feel old and I am 6 years younger than that!! He took the day off work and opened presents in bed before indulging in a bacon roll (for him) and croissants (for us) for brekkie. After the school drop off we took Jelly baby to Techniquest for the morning as it was one of their Toddler Day’s. These are amazing value – entry for £4.60 per adult which includes a free coffee / tea for mummy! You can also come and go, so pop off for lunch in the Bay and come back for the afternoon. They have storytime and arts and crafts and face painting as well as their usual fabulous exhibits.
Then we met up with hubby’s mum and great aunty for a gorgeous lunch in Hampton’s in Penarth. The food and service there was fabulous as always and we enjoyed a little look around the shop afterwards too.
We then came home to have birthday cake (recipe here) which was scrummy and then headed off to Bean’s school’s Christmas fair. The evening was rounded off with a takeaway curry. I don’t know about hubby, but it was a pretty good day for me too!!
