This year (Year 2) Bean has been able to start learning an instrument through school. As a child I used to play the trumpet and I strongly believe that learning an instrument is fantastic for your brain and development, even if you don't go on to play professionally.
Bean decided that she wanted to learn to play the violin. This isn't an instrument I would have chosen - I know next to nothing about string instruments but it was Bean's choice. So we duly paid for the lessons and bought her a little ¼ size violin which she is very pleased with!
She has to practice for at least 10 minutes 4 x a week which takes some getting used to but so far she has been quite keen so long may it continue!
