You know how you remember every little thing your firstborn did? You recorded it all down in a special little baby book. When they first rolled over, their first tooth, their first word? Well, with baby number two you don’t have time for any of that. You have the book, but it remains unfilled, until one day you look at it and realise that you can’t remember how old they were when they rolled over, or when they got their first tooth.
Well, needless to say, poor baby three doesn’t even get a book! I can feel time and memories running through my hands like free flowing sand. It is all moving and happening at once and I can’t hold onto any of it, and I can’t ‘catch’ these memories either – they will soon be lost to me. So I am going to record them here – a memory each week for each little one. So I can look back and remember. Needless to say, this is week 1 and 2 in one, but hereafter I plan to do this weekly!
This week you have been getting back into the school routine. You have been tired and struggling to get up in the mornings but you have been helpful and kind and so loving towards your brother. You really want a mouse so are trying your best to keep your room tidy. You are also playing really nicely with your toys and it is lovely to see how your imagination works. This week you were really excited to find that your favourite sweet shop that closed down in our town months ago is a chain and we found another branch!
You have been pushing my buttons this week. You are being a little monkey going to bed, being rude, cheeky and not doing as you are told or eating your meals very well. You are a little character though, with your wild hair and cheeky personality so we wouldn’t change you really! This week you learnt to get on and off the toilet without the step and you are very proud of yourself! You have also started Ballet lessons and have asked every day if it is Friday so you can go back again!
This week is a week of milestones for you. You have turned 6 months, rolled over for the first time and have settled into your own room. You are now eating 3 meals a day and eat everything we give you! You are sleeping so much better and for the past two days have had a proper lunchtime nap which has given mummy so much more time to get things done so thank you!
