Last year I wrote a few posts called ‘little memories’ – just simple little posts sharing the little things that happened to us that week. I loved writing those, I feel like we celebrate and remember the big memories but the littler things often get forgotten. I’m going to start writing those posts again this year, maybe not every week, but as often as I can. This blog is first and foremost an online diary so that I can remember just how special every day of our lives is, and it’s a place where I can write everything down, share the photos and try not to forget these amazing days.
We’ve been really worried about Bean’s hamster Nibbles for the last couple of weeks as one of the cats attacked him in his cage and he had a huge deep cut down his side. It was really serious and we’ve been religiously giving him the antibiotics and painkillers that the vet prescribed. One day it looks like it is healing up and then he goes and chews it open again. It’s been really stressful and she’s been very worried about him but I’m really proud of how well she has handled it.
She also got put up a group in spellings and now has the hardest words to learn every week! I’m so proud of how clever she is, and although homework is still a chore, she is doing so well in school.
Little Miss J
We are on birthday countdown with this little one at the moment! Every day she asks how many sleeps until her birthday or her party! She’s still having trouble sleeping at night because she has bad dreams so spends most nights in our bed. I don’t really mind as long as she is getting enough sleep because I suffered from nightmares as a child and I remember how terrifying it was. I don’t want her to be scared.
Well Little Boy is doing just fab! He’s in the throes of the terrible twos which is no fun at all, but he’s been healthy since his illness at Christmas and has put on lots of the weight he lost so is looking really well which is so nice to see. His speech is coming along brilliantly and he is loving doing puzzles and ‘writing’ a lot more now. He has an amazing concentration span! He is still very physical and when we went scooting at the weekend I had to run to keep up with him!
So there we have it, just little, ordinary memories from this week, but ones that I still want to treasure. Our lives are not perfect, we have bad times and good, but they are all part of the tapestry of life and I want to remember them all.
