Yes this is a bit of a happy clappy post! If you follow me on Instagram you will notice that I was particularly impressed by Karin Joyce’s keynote speech at Blog on Cymru. She basically taught us all how to “embrace happy” and that while “not every day is good, there is good in every day”.
She shared how she finds three good things in every day and that really resonated with me. I always ask my girls as they are going to bed what their favourite part of their day was and this seemed similar – I just like the idea of focusing on the best parts of your day! So if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram (links to the top right!) you’ll notice a few #3goodthings posts. Not every day but when I can.
But anyway, I digress. As part of this I think it is really important to focus on how we can all do little things to contribute to the happiness in other people’s lives. My elderly next door neighbour has been unwell for some time and she looked so sad when I saw her last week that I popped out to buy her this little plant and gave her a card with my contact numbers inside in case she ever needed anything. She was very touched and it probably made it onto her #3goodthings list if she were to have one!
A little bit of thought and effort can really make the difference to someone’s happiness. I wish we would all remember that and make it a priority in life to make someone happy every day.
