March 2016 on Instagram
I absolutely love Instagram. Who doesn’t love pretty photos that make life look perfect! I was sad that news of recent changes to the Instagram algorithm might mean that you see less of my photos coming up in your feed. If you are unaware of the proposed changes, in a nutshell, Instagram have decided that instead of your timeline appearing chronologically, photos will pop up according to what is deemed to be more ‘interesting’ to the user. While Instagram have assured users that the changes have not rolled out properly yet, I am already noticing less interaction on there and I wonder if changes are already afoot. Personally I think it’s a shame. With the current chronological display, every user gets a change of having a post looked at, whereas the new method sounds like a way of getting the big accounts even more attention than they currently get.
I feel sad for the thousands of small businesses who make a decent income from sales on Instagram and I feel sad that I might not see everyone who I follow like I do now. I also don’t fancy seeing lunchtime pictures at breakfast if you know what I mean! There is something reassuring about going through my feed at 7am to see everyone else up with the kids or nursing a cuppa in bed.
Because of these changes you might see my photos less. Or you might see them more. Who knows, but I thought I would share my monthly favourites on here just in case! Here are some of my favourites from March. It was a busy month for us and we’re looking forward to the challenges that April will bring too!
