If you are a regular reader you will know that every year around the children's birthdays I post about things they did over the course of the year. I am so so behind with these posts and they are on my list to catch up with because they are exactly why I started this blog in the first place - to document our lives and to remember these days! So even though we are closer to Miss J's next birthday than we are her last, here is what she got up to in her 8th year of life!
March
March saw her finish Rainbows! Look how many badges she had! She absolutely loved Rainbows, and I was really sad that she finished because she was our last girl so I knew that I wouldn't be back there either, it felt like the end of an era!
April
We had a lovely Easter just chilling out at home in our local area. Miss J loves rabbits and we were lucky enough to meet these little bunnies at a local soft play centre. We also had a lovely stay at the Hilton Hotel (she still talks about it!) and we met Mickey at Disney on Ice!
May
In May we had a lovely day out at Peppa Pig World where we were lucky to be invited as VIP guests and got to try out two new rides. It was such a lovely day. Miss J settled well into Brownies and won first prize in their dog show!
June
We had a gorgeous trip to Bluestone and the sun shone! We absolutely love it there, it's such a magical place. She also graduated from infants at school and they had a little celebratory assembly. I might have cried a little bit!
July
I think her most favourite moment of the year might have been when we told her that we were expecting another baby! She had been asking for a little brother and sister for so long - she couldn't believe it was coming true.
We also took our annual trip to Bath for some one to one time together. I love going with her, we stay in a nice hotel and enjoy the pool and have a makeshift spa experience in our room, go shopping and chill out in front of the TV together. It's bliss!
August

We went on a really special holiday around France. We drove down through Northern France down to Paris over the course of 10 days and saw so much, it was a really special holiday. We also went camping with Miss J's school friends. The weather wasn't quite so kind to us so we only stayed for one night!
September
September brought back to school, and it was the first year that she went without her big sister as E went off to high school! We did manage a few trips in September too, we went to see London Zoo (one of my most favourite days out in a long time) and also a trip to Oakwood theme park which was fun!
October
In October our precious little pug Lexi got a swollen nose. The vets thought it was a tumour and she endured two biopsies and a CT scan before we discovered it was likely just a swelling due to an allergic reaction. It was such a worrying time for Miss J as Lexi is her little best friend.
November
November involved all the pre-Christmas feels! We went to the Panto and Miss J also learnt to ice skate!
December
Our best friend and Miss J's godmother had a little baby boy in December and we were so excited to meet him! We also met Santa and had a really lovely chilled out Christmas as family before the baby was born. Miss J also joined the school choir and sang in her first concert!
January
January brought the best gift - her baby brother! She was besotted with him from the start and wasn't that disappointed that he wasn't a girl like she wanted!
February
In February it snowed for a day but sadly it was mostly gone by the time she got home from school. She was so sad that she didn't get to make a snowman that we made a mini one at home out of the snow that we had left!
And of course February brought with it an 8 year old! Happy birthday Miss J!
