My 34th Birthday
This week I turned 34. Eeek! But it's ok as I told JB I was 22 and she believed me so now I feel young again!
The day didn't go so well really as I was rudely awoken at 2am and vomited on by Baby S. Bless him. So I spent the night with him and he was sick again in the morning. So I didn't get to leisurely open my presents or have a nice breakfast or get the morning off that I was after but in the grand scheme of things I didn't mind too much, as long as I was there to look after him.
Daddy took the girls to their swimming lessons and I stayed with Baby S and put him down for a little nap and in the afternoon he had perked up a little so we took a little walk down to the beach so the girls could have a scoot and we could all get some fresh air. We stopped for a little hot chocolate on the way too.
We were supposed to go out for dinner and a movie but obviously I didn't want to leave the little one when he had been so poorly so we opted to stay in and share a takeaway with the girls and watch a couple of movies. Not forgetting a little happy birthday and candles and cake. It was actually a really nice second half of the day.
Do you find that as you get older birthdays get less special or is it just because the kids take over even on special days?!

My birthdays have become less and less effort the older I have gotten π but I guess that's normal - and there are always something goin on with the kids. Sorry to hear though that you got woken by sick on your birthday, that's quite something! Luckily I haven't had to experience that yet π #theordinarymoments

I do definitely think they get less special, not in a bad way just in a different way. It sounds like your day was lovely though whatever. I hope that your little boy is better soon. x

Kids DEFINITELY take over our birthdays these days! That's ok though I guess. It is my birthday next week and we don't have much planned. Hubby and I are going for a baby-free dinner while my parents sit for us which will be nice. But honestly I don't look forward to birthdays all that much any more! #MagicMoments

Happy Birthday! My Birthday last year was awful as I had caught a sickness bug so I am hoping this year will be better. It's my 40th though and I feel under pressure to do something. Just don't know what!

oh no! That was definitely worse than my day! I know what you mean there is a little pressure to do something when it is a big birthday.

Ah, I've just had my birthday too and also had a puking child (two years running now, think it's a January birthday thing!) Sounds like you had some lovely family time even if your birthday wasn't quite what you had planned.
