My Messy Adventure with Persil and Roald Dahl

There is always something in the news about how children today don’t get outside to play as much as they should. In fact, British children now only play outside for an average of 49 minutes a day, compared to 127 minutes spent playing indoors. Parents are apparently increasingly worried about how to entice their children outdoors. I know that given half a chance, my girls would get sucked into the TV or a game and would often choose that over going out to play.

In order to help combat this, Persil have recently launched ‘My Messy Adventure’, a new interactive adventure story enriched by the outside world, in collaboration with the Roald Dahl Literary Estate and Quentin Blake. You can use it from your smartphone or tablet and it puts your child into the centre of the story and whisks them off on a truly interactive adventure. You can play it at home in the garden or outside in the woods, wherever takes your fancy, just so long as you get some fresh air!!

This is such a fabulous idea and great fun for you and your little ones, and for free too. What can be better than that?! My girls loved having control of mummy’s phone and following the prompts in the story. It really helped them to engage with what was happening and definitely encouraged them to get outside.

Disclosure – we were given a Persil Goodie Pack and invited to post about the Messy Adventure. All opinions are honest and our own.

That’s a scary stat. Getting my two outside can be a struggle. I’ll take a look at the app.

This sounds fab! It is crazy how times have changed, most of my childhood was spent outside, my mam would even do us chips in paper cones now & again in the Summer holidays because we didn’t want to come in for food!

Wow, this is such a great idea! I have two little hermits who would always choose to stay inside, but then have the time of their lives once I actually manage to drag them into the great outdoors! This might make the dragging process a little easier – will have to check it out 🙂
