The Ordinary Moments 15 #5

I know that many of you will have been awake in the small hours with your babies. For the most part Baby Sprout is a great sleeper and will often sleep through until 7, but once or twice a week I get a 5 am wake up call. He wants milk and a cuddle, and quite often a small play before he will go back to bed at about 6. But of course then I am wide awake!

Whilst I don’t love dragging myself out of my warm bed at this time, once I am up I do quite like it. The house is quiet and I get some time with Baby Sprout to myself which I don’t have too much of. It is so early I don’t feel any need to do any housework except maybe put a load of washing on so I sit there, with Baby Sprout having a little kick about on his mat while I enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a catch up on some blogs!

It is a little bit of ‘me time’ carved into my crazy life, and although I do have to sacrifice a bit of sleep to get it, I do secretly enjoy it!

I know what you mean about those moments, when you should probably be asleep but it gives you a moment of “ahhhh”. Sounds lovely! Xxx

When my two were babies I always enjoyed those early mornings with them, just staring at them and taking them all in! I’m not such a massive fan of them now they spend those early mornings jumping on my head and yelling at me to get breakfast 😉

Ah, bless him there! I like a little sleep, too, but then I do want the kids to wake up early enough to have bed snuggles before we have to get up, so I’ll always sacrifice sleep for that 🙂

Oh there’s definitely something magic about the early mornings – even if you miss some very precious sleep!

I do love those moments and funnily enough they are what I miss now the girls are past that stage. I loved that feeling of being the only ones awake and snuggling and feeding together. Aaah it’s making me broody! 😉 x

We had a solid three months of 6am wake ups when Little Man turned 3 months old. I loved the quiet of the house, the time to get things done and the peace but I hated waking up. You get used to it after a while though don’t you? x
