I love watching routine videos on YouTube - they really inspire me on how I can change our routine for the better, and little things I can tweak to make our mornings go easier.
Hubby leaves for work really early in the morning so I'm alone every morning getting my three ready. I can be stressful if you don't have a routine that you can stick to so I'm quite regimented in the morning, with everything needing to be done by a certain time to get out of the house.
I have got the routine perfected now though and as long as we all get up on time and there aren't any major disasters we don't usually have a rush or panic in the morning. It's all down to being strict with knowing what time everything has to be done by.
I've shared my morning routine with everyone on my YouTube channel and it's a really popular video at the moment so I thought I would share the video on here and also tell you all about how I get through the mornings when it's three against one!
I make sure that I wake up on time. I know that I have to be up at 7 o'clock so I set my alarm for 6, knowing that I need at least 30 minutes snooze time! I then wake myself up by looking at the news and social media on my phone and drinking a nice cuppa! My children are usually good sleepers but if any of them is awake before 7 they will come into my bed for a cuddle and they can watch the iPad before we get up.
At 7 I go to wake them up and we head downstairs for breakfast. I make them all cereal and they sit and eat that while I sort the washing out, hanging wet things out to dry or putting them in the tumble dryer and putting another load of washing in.
At 7.30 I make them some toast and fruit before heading upstairs to get ready myself while they finish their breakfast.
I have a shower and do my make up and tidy their bedrooms between 7.30 and 8, listening out all the time to make sure that they are ok and finishing their breakfast. At 8 they all come upstairs and brush their teeth and get dressed. I usually put the littlest two's clothes out for them and I have to get Little Boy dressed, and Little Miss J usually needs some help. Luckily Bean can handle herself now!
They are usually all dressed by about 8.20 and they come downstairs to my room so that I can do the girls hair and finish getting myself ready.
At 8.30 we head downstairs and start putting coats and shoes on ready to leave the house at 8.40.
When I get back I tidy the kitchen and sort another load of washing before having my breakfast and starting work.
Most mornings our routine works really well and the children leave for school happy. A lot of what makes our routine work is that we get a lot ready the night before, like lunches are made and bags are ready to go so that's a couple less things to worry about.
So anyway, I hope that helps some of you who are struggling in the mornings. We've all been there and don't worry, not all of my mornings go smoothly, there's a nappy accident or dirty cardigan thrown into the mix every now and again to keep me on my toes!

I bet it can be a busy morning when you have kids around so to make sure you have a routine in place can really make a big difference.

I also have to leave myself an extra hour or so before I actually have to be awake so that there's some snooze time!

That's such an organized routine, but I agree with you about needing snooze time, I need it too x

I do the exact same thing as you! I set my alarm for 6 and give myself snooze time before I get up at 7.

A routine is vital isn't it? You are so organised which obviously helps, ours seems to happen in a blur. Thank you for the inspiration, it's good to have a set pattern for mornings I think.
