#RespectThePasta – Getting the Family Involved

So I’m at the end of my Ask Italian #RespectThePasta blogger challenge and challenge 5 is about getting the family involved with pasta. (If you missed them here are challenges 1, 2, 3 and 4).

Getting the family involved in pasta isn’t hard. For us pasta is a meal we cook in a large batch and sit down all together to eat. We often cook pasta when we have friends over too – pasta is just one of those meals that is made to be shared.

This weekend we made a spinach and ricotta lasagne. I was mostly inspired by last week’s spinach and ricotta ravioli – pasta dishes like this are a great way of getting spinach into the kids!

The great thing about lasagne is that the children are really keen to help. I made the sauces and Bean helped to layer the pasta. She was really pleased to help with making a meal for the whole family.

Afterwards we had a little arts and crafts session with some macaroni pasta shapes…pasta’s not just for eating you know 😉

We’ve really enjoyed Ask Italian’s Bloggers Challenge and have definitely taken away lots of tips for cooking pasta and some great new recipes.

Disclosure…we were provided with a the flour and ravioli cutter for the purposes of this review. All opinions are honest and my own.
