Hi a big hello and welcome to Cookies and Cwtches if you have come over from Emmy’s Mummy on the Star Wars World Book Day Blog Tour. My children are so into Star Wars! I think the new film coming out has really fired their imaginations! Little Miss J really wanted a Star Wars and Princess birthday party this year and they loved making an X-Wing in a previous Star Wars book review we did.
So you can imagine their excitement when I told them we got to review some more Star Wars goodies for World Book Day.
Firstly we have these three Wild Space Adventure Books. They were perfect for Bean (who is 8) and she really enjoyed reading them on her own. There is The Escape, The Nest
and The Snare. The smallest of these The Escape is only £1 so can be picked up for free in your local bookshop with your World Book Day voucher.
The girls also loved putting together their own Millenium Falcon and playing with the Doodle Book included in this fab tin of goodies (Star Wars: Rebellion Tin). This would make a perfect gift for a Star Wars fan.
They also sat together for ages looking in this Star Wars: Where’s the Wookiee? book. It’s a bit like Where’s Wally but a Star Wars version. It certainly kept them quiet for a while!
We also put together a little Star Wars Costume for Little Miss J to wear for World Book Day. She can be a real girly girl but she loves to dress up in ‘boy’ outfits rather than your usual princess dressing up. Everyone loves her for it though and it is great that she has the confidence to be so unique! So she wanted to dress up as Darth Vader which was great but we thought we would put a little spin on it and make her into Lady Vader! We already had these Darth Vader Pyjamas which we used with a black net tutu skirt. I have a really easy tutorial for how to make the net skirt here. If you don’t have Darth pjs you could just use a black top and leggings and print a picture of the chest plate to pin on (google Darth Vader chest plate for images). Team this with a light saber or a toy sword (or make one from kitchen roll if you don’t have one) and voila, you have Lady Vader!!
To celebrate World Book Day Egmont Publishing have partnered with Cookies and Cwtches to offer you a chance to win a set of three Star Wars Adventures in Wild Space books. Enter via the rafflecopter widget below to be in with a chance to win. UK entries only please.
The next blog on the tour is the lovely Anna’s from In the Playroom. If you haven’t seen her blog before it is fabulous, a total go to resource for anything relating to child’s play, craft and learning. She is also running her own competition to win the Star Wars books so head over there to get another chance to enter.
