I haven’t written an ‘ordinary moments’ post in a while. I’ve been really busy and I’ve found that posts like this have taken a bit of a backseat. I’d really like to change that though, because one of my main reasons for starting this blog was to record our little memories so that I had something to look back on. I want this blog to stay true to that so I’m going to work doubly hard to find the time to keep sharing our little memories on here.
At the moment life is crazy busy. Hubby and I are basically both either working or looking after the children / doing things in the house. We get very little free time and often get to bed late having not spent a great deal of time together. Weekdays are really busy and Saturdays are full of swimming lessons, dancing practice and class parties. So we’ve recently been trying to spend some quality time together on a Sunday. Sometimes this will mean a day out, but more usually it means a day where we just try to do less. About 3 weeks out of 4 we will head to church in the morning, and if we do we have a leisurely coffee with our church friends afterwards while the children play. We then like to head out for Sunday lunch.
Our girls are not the best eaters and Little Boy is quite boisterous so we don’t go for anything too formal, quite often it’s a salad or panini in a coffee shop, or maybe a bite to eat in a family friendly pub. Little Boy will eat something like beans on toast and the girls usually have toast or crumpets and fruit. It’s a little luxury that affords us some valuable time together and saves us an hour of food preparation / cleaning up too. I can honestly say it is one of our favourite moments of the week.
We’ll go home afterwards and watch a film or go for a walk if the weather is nice before finishing off the week’s homework and sorting baths and everything else out before school and the weekday routine starts again. I suppose it’s as lazy a Sunday as you can have with three young children!
