Sunny days at the splash park

I could rave on and on about our local area – we are so lucky to have so many fab places to go on our doorstep.

A short 5 minute drive away there is an amazing park with just a huge green area for the children to run around, a nice playground and a brilliant splash park. On hot days it is lovely to take a picnic and soak up the rays while the kids have fun and play.

Now the girls are a bit older we can sit outside the splash park and they will run in and out having fun. This time I walked the baby around so that he would have a little nap and we actually got a little bit of peaceful time!

I was looking around at the other parents, most just chatting with friends, or some on their own reading books or magazines while the children all played. There is a great atmosphere of laughter and the sound of splashing water and it is a very happy place to be.

We do a lot with our children but sometimes the most fun is taking a picnic somewhere and enjoying some free outdoors fun.

A lovely sunny picture! We love splash parks too – even though the kids are nearly 8 and 10, they still go mad for them! #ordinarymoments

I wish we had a splash park locally but we don’t have anything like that really. Jealous! Such a great day out x

Beautiful picture, so summery! I love the splash park near us, we went for the first time a few weeks ago. It’s so much fun and it’s free! #OrdinaryMoments

Such a lovely photo!! We don’t have a splash park near us, but they have them in the closest city so we will probably take Zach there when he’s a bit older – they look so much fun! xx #ordinarymoments

Simple things are so often some of the best, I think. My son is rarely happier than when having a picnic or a race around the park. We are lucky to have a good park with a great sandpit nearby, but I’d love it if we had a splash park too!

This sounds like so much fun and you do sound like you live in a lovely area. We have a splash park about 45 mins away from us and both my girls love it. Lovely photo too. x

Thank you lovely. It’s not the most glamorous place but I think we’re pretty lucky to have lots of things like this nearby so it’s not all bad!

Ah we love splash pads – we have done a couple of different ones this summer!
