Well the weather we’ve been having this summer holidays has been absolutely miserable hasn’t it! I think it has rained non stop since the first day! We’re on week three now and I know lots of parents are struggling for ideas for what to do with their children when it rains day after day!
Last week we headed over to St David’s Centre in Cardiff for a Superhero party in Hamleys. My children love Hamleys, it’s such a fun and interactive shop and it’s nice to be able to go somewhere that they can browse and have fun and I’m not scared of them touching everything!
They do birthday parties there and meet Father Christmas which we have been to before and really enjoyed so we were keen to see what Superhero parties were all about.
We arrived for the party and the Superheroes were waiting for us at the door along with lots of excited children, many of them dressed up in the spirit! They played some games before heading on a hunt for the letters that spell Hamleys which was the password to get into the party room! They were encouraged to make lots of noise which was fun!
When we got into the party room there were superhero masks and colouring set out to do. I love the fact that they had girl superheroes too! They then played some party games with a superhero twist like musical statues and Superhero Says!
At the end of the party Superhero Hamley Bear appeared and they all got to say hi and give him a cuddle and have a picture taken with him before being given their goodie bags and a balloon. The goodie bags contained a Lego blindbag and a paper superhero mask and they were given a cup to fill to the brim with sweets which was the absolute highlight for my sweet mad lot!
Parties are charged at £12 a ticket and last for 45 minutes – the perfect distraction on a rainy day! You can book tickets here.
Disclosure – we were invited to a Hamley’s Superhero Party free of charge for the purpose of this review. All opinions are honest and my own.
