We’re taking part in the Ty Hafan Rainbow Run

Ty Hafan Rainbow Run

Ty Hafan is a charity that is close to my heart. It is a local charity that benefits children with life limiting conditions living in Wales. It’s head office is close to where we live and I had the privilege last year of working with them on their Precious Moments campaign and visiting the hospice myself to see the amazing work that they do.

Last year, before I worked with Ty Hafan the hubby and I took part in their Rainbow Run in Porthcawl. I wanted to raise some money for this excellent charity and saw it as a great excuse for getting fitter following the birth of Baby S. I enjoyed every minute of it and it was great training for it as it really helped me to get my fitness back and loose some baby weight.

This year we are going to do the run again, but this time on Barry Island and this time we will be making it a family affair and we’ll be taking the girls too. No training required this time as we’ll probably walk the distance as Little Miss J is only 5 but this just shows how anyone and everyone can be involved in these events. You can train and try to run it as fast as you can, or you can turn up on the day, walk it, have a blast and raise some money for a fantastic charity at the same time.

If you want to take part you can see a list of the Ty Hafan Rainbow Run events and sign up here. Or if you are more of a watch from the sofa type of person please please do sponsor us. Any amount, even a pound will make a difference. Thank you!

What a great cause! I love that you are including your girls. My parents took us to charity events throughout our lives which sparked my passion for charity work and I’m sure it will do the same for your kids.

What a fantastic opportunity to fund raise. The Rainbow Run sounds great and I like how inclusive it is. I really dislike the sexism of Race For Life and hate how it excludes men. Charity events shouldn’t be segregated and it’s great to see how Ty Hafan don’t bar anyone from taking part because of their gender x

Best of luck to you – I’ve heard so many people taking on these colour runs. They look incredible fun. I would also love to visit Barry Island one day too!

I love that your doing this and I only found out about this two days ago and would love to do it with my eldest but feel we won’t have enough time to fundraise the minimum – but have an AMAZING day – I’m sure you will

Wow good luck and power to you! I am trying to get my husband to take me out running, I’d love to join a gym but I’m trying to penny pinch for our holibobs!

Looks like so much fun! I wanted to go along to this (although it would have been a rainbow walk!) but I couldn’t get the time off work 🙁
Ty Hafan is such a fantastic charity, that promotes so much positivity so it’s great to see everyone having so much fun when supporting them! Xx

What a great cause. I really want to do a rainbow run as it looks really fun as well as being good for you. Need to get my knee fixed first.

A great way to support a very worthwhile cause and good to do as a family as it teaches children about giving back. I am doing a run with people from work and it is good motivation to get out running.
