The First Week Of Summer Holidays 2018

I hope you don’t mind me being a little quieter over here over the summer holidays, three children home full time and being 4 months pregnant is more than enough work for this mama! I’m still keeping things going over on my YouTube channel so do pop over there if you want to see what we are up to!

In the meantime let me fill you in with how we have spent the first week of the holidays!

We spent the first day close to home, playing in the garden with water and painting! It was such a lovely relaxed day and just what we needed after the chaos of the last couple of weeks of term.

We headed into Cardiff Bay to visit Cardiff Bay Beach. I wasn’t massively impressed with the new location but we had a lovely day and Little Boy loved seeing the crocodile!

The weather was glorious again so we went to a local fruit farm and picked strawberries and raspberries and spent a lovely day there having a picnic. The girls even had braids put in their hair. We came home and made sorbet with our pickings!

We had breakfast on the beach (I’ve always wanted to do this!) We just took some cereal in ziplock bags and juice in bottles and some croissants and jam with some plastic plates and cups and had a really peaceful breakfast on the beach. I’m definitely going to do it again!

We then spent the afternoon swimming – Miss J even braved the baby slide which is a big deal for her!

On Friday we headed into town to watch Hotel Transylvania 3 and spent an hour at Cardiff Museum looking at the dinosaurs before meeting Daddy from work and heading onto Bristol Zoo for their Twilight event which was brilliant. I made a vlog of our evening there if you’d like to watch.

So that’s the end of our first week – we had lots of fun and stayed close to home. Stay tuned next week to find out what we got up to next!
