The Keeper by David Baldacci – A Review

I don’t get much time to read anymore so I love the chance to sit down with a good book. I was asked to review The Keeper by David Baldacci a while ago and it has taken me ages to get around to it.

The Keeper is the second in the Vega Jane series – the first being The Finisher. Unfortunately I hadn’t read that before reading this, but I don’t think it really mattered, but I think reading The Finisher first would have given some useful background to the story.

Essentially this book is youth fiction, which I often enjoy actually as it is a bit of an easier read. Vega comes from a town called Wormwood and this book starts off as she just escapes from there and is exploring the Quag – a dangerous and scary world. She was told that there was nothing beyond this world and she is determined to prove herself right – that there is more out there.

The book is not short of drama and suspense, it is an exciting read and it makes me want to read not only the first in the story, but also the next too.

There is a little trailer below to give you an idea of the mood of the book!
