This morning the Olympic Torch relay came to town, and it went right past our street! It was a little early (7.30) but I had red white and blue outfits planned for the girls and we just couldn’t miss this moment of history!
There were people lining the route and the atmosphere was great, but it was quiet enough that the kids could see easily. Bean waved her Union Jack flag and Jelly just looked confused!
It was a fantastic moment, and made me feel really in love with Britain, a feeling which is easily lost at the moment. I think that the Olympics and the Jubilee couldn’t really have come at a better time for the country.
Inspired, I’m off now to get some union jack bunting for the garden!
