The Same But Different

The Same But Different

the same but different

So much of the life of a stay at home parent is repetitive. You get up, make breakfast, go to the same playgroups, parks, shops and cafes, have lunch, clean the house and do the school run and after school clubs. Each day may be different but in many ways they are all the same. The mundane bores me, I like change, and I get restless when things get repetitive. I usually visit the same places every week, for example I often take a walk at a local lake. The view there can be quite stunning and it always motivates me to take a photo as it is so beautiful.

I was looking  through my photos of the week for a photo to share today and came across this one of a gorgeous view over the lake. The sky was blue and the grass was green. I must have several of the same view as it always strikes me. I was playing around with editing the photo when I made it black and white. I loved how it looked – that sunny day is transported into a striking silhouette. The same but different. It represents to me that although I might go through the same motions every day, there is always something different that I could take from it – be that a new recipe for lunch, walking a different route around the park or talking to someone different at playgroup. It is easy to get stuck in a rut sometimes, this photo reminds me that it is also easy to get out of it. All you need to do is look at something a different way.

And that’s quite enough philosophy for one Sunday! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

This is so lovely! I can already imagine the sound in there too! Birds and wind! Lovely.
