Honestly, I think my children's favourite thing to do is go toy shopping! Of course, why wouldn't it be! The excitement of Christmas is already upon us and my girls were so excited to look through the Smyths Toys catalogue and start picking some toys for Christmas. It's got 300 pages so it will keep them busy for ages!
I remember spending hours looking through toy catalogues when I was a child and it's so nice to see them doing the same. They circle the toys that they like and turn the pages down and show me later all the things that they have looked at. Don't worry, they won't be getting everything, they know that they can write a list and Santa will pick a few things from the list for them.
I can't think of a toy that you can't find in Smyths. We headed there at the weekend to see their selection, inspired by what we had seen in the fantastic new catalogue and armed with some vouchers that they had very generously sent us.
The girls could spend hours in there and I don't think that there's a toy out there that they don't sell. It certainly was really busy in there as people were stocking up for Christmas already.
The girls definitely found lots of things that they wanted and have made a big list for Christmas this year! I love how wide and open the aisles are and the girls could pick up and play with all the toys to see what they are like in person. They are usefully arranged in sections so you can easily browse all the Lego toys in one place and Barbie in another etc.
The prices are very clear and the staff are really helpful. We went looking for a "Bop-It" and despite my very poor description of what it was the lady took me right too it - quite amazing considering just how many toys they have in there!
While we were in there we did make a big purchase - we bought Little Miss J her first bike! They had a great offer on so we thought we would treat her, so that she and her sister can go on autumn bike rides! For only £5 they put the bike together for you and you even get a free bike safety check in 3 months time. Definitely worth bearing in mind if your little one has a bike on their list this Christmas. Once again I found that the staff were really helpful and the store assistant Rhys even put the stabilisers I bought separately from the store onto the bike when he was putting it together which is top notch service.
Look out on the blog and my YouTube channel to keep up with our bike riding adventures this autumn!
Also, make sure that you keep an eye out on my instagram account for an exciting reveal. Smyths Toys are bringing out an exclusive new toy and I can't wait to show it to you!

Toys R Us has just declared bankruptcy here in the States, they're not even sure they can stay open for Christmas.
Online shopping is really laying waste to a lot of businesses.

We love Smyth Toys, it has {as you said} literally every toy you can imagine and the prices are amazing too! I also had no idea about the bike service, and assembling it for you! How amazing is that.

We love the Smyths toy store here in Cardiff! In fact, we were there last week so my middle child could spend his birthday money. All three kids picked up a catalogue each to look for Christmas present inspiration! X

I certainly remember feeling giddy as a child too! The thought of visiting the toy store was all consuming at that age and why wouldn't be? Toys are fun and they make children very happy. I loved seeing their happy faces as they held toys that sparked interest. How much fun was this?!

Smyths have some great offers atm - Jack recently grabbed the catalogue and marked everything he wanted...which was most of the catalogue! How exciting to get a first bike!

There’s so much to look at in them isn’t there! Mine would spend hours in them too if they could!

As an adult I don't get nearly as excited about going to the shops, but I still remember the excitement of toy shopping 🙂

That's because as adults it costs US money so is nowhere near as much fun!
