Turning my bedroom nightmare into a dream

We are hopefully moving house soon and we are planning on buying a real ‘project’ house. Yorkshire Linen have challenged me to do a bedroom makeover with the brief of ‘turning your nightmare into a dream’. The house I have my heart set on has a huge bedroom but is in need of a complete makeover so is a real contender for the nightmare into a dream challenge! The room overlooks the sea so I think a white, pale grey and pale pink look would look beautiful and really emphasise the huge room and look really classy and calming.

Here is what the bedroom looks like now…

And here is what I would love to do with it…

  1. Yorkshire Linen’s King Size Belledorm Liberty Duvet Cover Set in Ivory £49.99

  2. Arctic Stripe Grey King Bedspread £19.99

  3. Dulux Floor Paint, White, Homebase £39.99
  4. Light Pink Frilled Cushion Cover, H&M £4
  5. Tala Ribbed Ceramic Table Lamp, Homebase, £34.99
  6. Yankee Candle in Champaca Blossom £19.99

I’ll go for white walls and pull up the carpet and paint the floorboards white. I think that quality bed linen is really important as that is the staple of the room after the decor. The white / ivory duvet set from Yorkshire Linen would then stay constant while accessories could be changed as and when. This King duvet cover is made of Egyptian cotton and is a fantastic price. The whites are toned down with the grey bedspread and there are a couple of little pretty  pink accents dotted around the room to give it a more feminine and less clinical feel.

What do you think about this room makeover? If we are successful and we get the house I’ll be sure to show you the plan in action!
