If you are local you will have heard of the charity Ty Hafan. If not, let me tell you a little bit more about them. They are a hospice based in Sully, Vale of Glamorgan providing support for children and the families of children with life limiting illnesses. They offer this support free of charge to families who need it in Wales.
Ty Hafan needs £4m a year to run, and they are a charity that I personally give to and have raised money for in the past – you might remember me taking part in the Rainbow Run earlier this year! Just to give you an idea of what help Ty Hafan offer and how much this costs here are some figures…
● £10 could pay for outreach play therapy for a family and their child
● £15 could pay for half an hour of physiotherapy to ease a child’s pain
● £23 could pay for an hour of support for a family.
This Christmas Ty Hafan have launched a festive campaign called Precious Moments.
They would like you to share your precious moments based on a new word theme every Monday. I’m a little behind but this week’s word is exciting.
We have had lots of exciting moments this week, including Bean singing in the school choir and us signing the mortgage for the new house.
You can learn more about the Precious Moments Campaign through two of it’s stars, Alice and Riley in these videos…
I know that we are terribly lucky and feel privileged to be able to help spread the news of the great work that Ty Hafan is doing for children not as fortunate as mine. I am really pleased that I have been asked to be an ambassador for the charity and have been invited to tour their premises on the 27th November. I’m looking forward to continuing to share our precious moments with you throughout the campaign.
