I used to write meal posts all the time, and believe it or not, back in the day I envisaged this blog to be quite foody. Of course three children put paid to the amount of time I am able to spend cooking now!! But now the little one is coming up to 18 months I feel like I can claw back a little time to start cooking again.
This January (as with every January probably!) I want to kick start the year eating better. The kids have been eating far too much processed foods and sugar. The hubby has developed a definite Christmas belly and I could still do with losing another half a stone and toning up. I have been exercising every day and plan on carrying that on, waking before the children to get 20 minutes in before sitting down for a cheeky 20 minutes on social media with a cup of hot water and lemon. The struggle there will be getting up on time!!
I don’t want to deprive myself of the little treats – and we still have so much left from Christmas it would seem like a waste! I’m hoping though that making healthier main meal choices and exercising more will make up for the odd biscuit though!
So, this week our meal plan is hopefully looking a little healthier than normal. We’ll be eating…
Monday – Quorn Sausages with chilli sauce and mash
Tuesday – Homemade pizza
Wednesday – Chilladas (Delia Smith recipe)
Thursday – Quorn Toad in the Hole with homemade chips and veg
Friday – Takeaway night
Saturday – out
Sunday – vegetable curry & rice
Friday nights will remain takeaway nights as they are so busy that it is the easiest thing and one bad meal out of 7 is ok I think. I’m going to try to make more bread in the bread machine too and drink less milk. I’m going to struggle on with my attempts to drink more water in the day too.
