Last week I was sent some samples of a new range that Schwartz have out – a two in one seasoning range designed to make everyday meals easier and tastier to make. Both samples we were sent were for chicken, and as a mainly veggie house I thought I would adapt one to use with Quorn and see how it turned out.
The directions were easy to follow but I obviously adapted them a little as I was using Quorn. I cooked the pasta and then added it to a casserole dish. I pureed the tinned tomatoes and yellow pepper (child with SED alert!!), mixed this with the cooked pasta, a pack of frozen Quorn pieces and stirred through the Schwartz seasoning. I then sprinkled the Cheesy Crumb topping over and topped with grated cheese.
I popped this in the oven for 20 minutes. It was really easy to make and smelled absolutely delicious! Now is where I apologise for the lack of photos – the gorgeous smell wafted through the house prompting hubby to take it out of the oven and dish it up before I had even realised!!
So here is a photo of my portion!!
I found taste of the seasoning quite strong but tasty, and hubby absolutely loved it and not only went back for seconds but also took a portion to work with him the next day for lunch! A big hit there then!!
It was really easy to make and I was very impressed that you could substitute Quorn for the chicken so easily making it a really yummy vegetarian meal.
I was gifted a packet of this seasoning for the purposes of the review. All opinions are my own. This post is an entry for BritMums ‘What’s for Dinner Tonight?’ sponsored by Schwartz. Find out more about the new 2in1 mixes here.
